2nd Grade
I graduated from Howells High School in 2004. I then attended Midland Lutheran College and graduated in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.
My elementary school experience was in a Catholic school. I have very fond memories of that time and believe it provided me with a solid foundation on which to build my future. I want to provide that kind of experience for the students I come in contact with. There is no better place to do that in than a Catholic school.
I am extremely excited to be a part of St. Patrick’s School. The job was a perfect fit for me. I am eager to meet all of the staff and students at the school. The supportive community at St. Pat’s is a great place to begin my teaching career, and I look forward to making my second grade classroom come alive.
On July 5th, I married Josh Grabbe. My supportive family is excited to have Josh join our family. My parents are Terry Baumert and Donna Baumert. I have three sisters (Sarah, Mallory, and Madison) as well as a nephew, (Levi) and a brother-in-law. (Todd) I love my family and enjoy spending time with all of them!
Jodie is thrilled to be teaching second grade at St. Patrick's this year! She has been so impressed with the kindness, dedication and love that are shown by the people of St. Patrick's. She loves walking into the school and feeling a sense of family right away! Jodie received her BS degree in elementary education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Since then, she has had wonderful opportunities to teach first, second, third and fourth grades in both public and Catholic schools. She and her husband, David, have two children, Allison and Matthew, who will also be attending St. Patrick’s this year. When Jodie is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to read, do crafts, and cheer for the Huskers!! One of the best gifts I received from my parents was a Catholic education. I knew after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a degree in Elementary Education/Human Development and the Family, that I wanted to teach in the Catholic School system. I knew it would be a place I would feel comfortable. I can’t imagine teaching children without telling them how much God loves them. I have taught Second Grade at Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, Nebraska and Christ the King School in Omaha Nebraska. In 2000, I started teaching second grade at Saint Patrick’s in Elkhorn Nebraska. I wanted to be a part of a school that was just beginning. A good friend who taught here told me it was the perfect fit for me, and she was right. You couldn’t ask for a better teaching and learning environment then Saint Patrick’s. The students and teachers continue to learn form each other to be the best we can be. My husband, Andy, and I have three daughters, Jillian, Nicole, and Jennifer. The girls are receiving the same catholic education that I did and hopefully the tradition will continue.
